Bronze Plaques on our library wall say
“Thank You” to our donors.
|
Many of our fundraising events have their own recognition programs. For example, some of our fundraisers provide incentives and prizes to students and families that succeed in raising the most dollars. For other fundraisers, donors receive something in return for their donations, such as tiles for the Library wall, school t-shirts, or pizza.
In response to larger donations, the Foundation initiated the Bronze Plaque Program. This program, similar to that of other non-profits, recognizes individuals and families who make a large donation to the Foundation in support of our overall budget (this includes unrestricted and restricted funds).
The donation levels are: Platinum - $5,000 or more, Gold - $2,500-$4999, Silver - $1,000-$2499.
The criterion we set for calculating the total dollar amount that “counts” for this program was whether any benefit was received by the donor. The rational for this was two-fold: it was logistically prohibitive to track the net donated value for other fundraisers, and a straight cash (or marketable stock) donation is the most cost-effective way for us to reach our goal because it minimizes the time and money spent to secure it.
Here are examples from last year of donations that counted towards the Bronze Plaque Program:
- Cash Donations (Request for Funds Letter, etc.)
- Stock Donations (based on market value on the date of receipt)
- Cash Donations for an Event (sponsorships or underwritings)
Regardless of the size of the donation, we know that every dollar raised is important
to meeting our goals.
We thank each and every donor.
