THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!

Fall is upon us and the campus is so busy even before school begins! Almost 400 kids and parents have participated in Running Club this year! About 155 kids participate every day, that is 33% who come out on a daily basis. The 4^th and 5^th graders have the opportunity to take part in our TPES Glee Club, meeting before school on Tuesdays! Ms. Tang, our very own Choral Music teacher, directs the Glee Club. Kids cast in our school play, The Wizard of Oz are busy rehearsing for productions in early December. Thank you to Running Club Chair Jeni Lentin, Natacha Hosy and Nick and Tatyana Lashchuk, our Music Committee Chairs Wendy Dick and Clare Heller and Aler Krishnan, Ann-Marie Zacharia, and Liwayway Ronzone, Renee Kenagy and all the parents who are helping with the Wizard of Oz rehearsals!

SPEAKING OF VOLUNTEERS…

It truly takes a village to bring all the enriching programs and sense of community to TPES! I appreciate all the volunteer support that makes the TPES experience possible! It is amazing how the TPES community of parents and friends come together.

Volunteering is taking on many forms at TPES, and every form is so vital to making TPES so vibrant. From Executive Board Members, to Room Parents, to Library Volunteers and Event Chairs, there are so many ways to participate!

ART, LIBRARY & TPES GARDEN

Thank you to our Art Committee Chairs, Goli Lerner and Karen DePodesta. Thank you Liz Bass, Nina Gilmore, Hili Mann, Aler Krishnan, Albena Kalchev, Olga Lomakin, Rachel Saida, Nancy Cho, Dana Connolly-Chao, Yeonjeong Son, who have volunteered to make the daily logistics of our Art program run smoothly! Thank you to Anne Marie Zacharia, Regina Buckley, Rachel Saida, Amy Jones and all our Library volunteers who are reading to the kindergartners, and helping Ms. Daily in the Library every week! Thank you Mic Rothman, who has secured a grant again this year from the La Jolla Village Garden. Many of our classes are working in our school garden weekly!

TPES FUNDRAISING

OCTOBER FUNDRAISER A FUN SUCCESS!

Our Halloween Carnival was a success! We raised $9k with this fundraiser that brought more than 500 people and the TPES community together for an afternoon of fun! Thank you to Missy Coleman this year’s Halloween Carnival chair for bringing the Carnival back!! Thank you to all the teachers who came out and got “blasted” with water by our students! Thank you to all the helpers who donated an hour or more of their time, we hope all who came out to volunteer had a blast, I know the kids did!

ONLINE AUCTION - NOVEMBER & DECEMBER FUNDRAISING

We have a fabulous fundraiser coming up! Watch for exciting details on the TPES homepage and the eTwig where you can browse the auction catalog, build your wish list and register for bidding! There are many great items this year, so check it out and place your bids! Thank you to the Auction chairs Amy Hunter, Karen Krampe and many volunteers who have been working tirelessly to make sure we have fabulous auction items available.

ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN FUND UPDATE

Last but certainly not least, thank you to all who have donated to the TPES Foundation Annual Fund. The Annual Campaign has so far raised $64,000 that will directly fund the mission critical programming, including class size reduction, art, music, PE, science programs. We are at 64% of our Annual Fund goal of $100,000.

PARTICIPATE IN THE TPES EXPERIENCE!

As you can tell from all the dozens of helpers named above, and no doubt there are dozens more behind the scenes, TPES is more than just an elementary school.
